Flash Flood Watch until 07:00AM Thursday
Widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected to develop through this evening and into the overnight hours. Embedded storms will have the potential to produce bands of heavy rainfall which may lead to flash flooding. The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Illinois and northwest Indiana, including the following areas, in Illinois, Ford, Iroquois, Kankakee, and Livingston. In northwest Indiana, Benton and Newton.
* Through 7 AM CDT/8 AM EDT.
* Showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected to overspread the watch area through this evening. These storms will be capable of producing very heavy rainfall rates in excess of 1.5 to 2 inches per hour.
* Runoff from this heavy rainfall may result in areas of flash flooding, in addition to subsequent rises on area rivers.
* AFFECTED AREAS: KANKAKEE ... NEWTON ... BENTON ... IROQUOIS ... FORD ... LIVINGSTON
