Flood Advisory until 02:30AM Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* Flood Advisory for... West central Fairfield County in central Ohio... Northeastern Fayette County in central Ohio... Northern Pickaway County in central Ohio... Southeastern Madison County in central Ohio...

* Until 230 AM EDT.

* At 1127 PM EDT, radar indicated a nearly stationary area of heavy rain over much of the advisory area. Radar has estimated that up to 1.5 inches of rain has fallen in the past several hours, with another inch possible in the next couple of hours. This rain, on top of already-saturated ground, will lead to quick ponding of water in low lying areas.

* Minor flooding of low-lying and poorly drained streets, highways and underpasses will occur. In addition, farmland near creeks, streams and drainage ditches will experience minor flooding. Some locations that will experience minor flooding include... Lancaster, Ashville, Mount Sterling, South Bloomfield, Commercial Point, Royalton, Fox, Carroll, Darbyville, Fairfield County Airport, East Ringgold, Deer Creek Lake, Chenoweth, Duvall, Slate Run Metro Park, Madison Mills, Dumontville, State Route 674 at State Route 188 and Pancoastburg.

* AFFECTED AREAS: FAIRFIELD, OH ... FAYETTE, OH ... PICKAWAY, OH ... MADISON, OH

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. To report flooding, go to our website at weather.gov/iln and submit your report via social media, when you can do so safely.
