The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* Portions of East Central Indiana and Ohio, including the following areas, in East Central Indiana, Fayette IN, Union IN, and Wayne. In Ohio, Auglaize, Champaign, Darke, Delaware, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Miami, Preble, Shelby, and Union OH.
* Through Thursday evening
* Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches will be possible in the heaviest activity. The ground is already saturated, and these rainfall amounts may lead to new instances of flash flooding.
* While only isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected late tonight into Wednesday morning, any heavy rainfall could produce localized flash flooding. More widespread showers and thunderstorms are then expected from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday and the risk for flash flooding will continue through this time.
* AFFECTED AREAS: HARDIN ... LOGAN ... FAYETTE ... AUGLAIZE ... SHELBY ... WAYNE ... MIAMI ... PREBLE ... MERCER ... DELAWARE ... CHAMPAIGN ... UNION ... DARKE ... UNION
Instructions:
People in the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be prepared for immediate action should heavy rains and flooding occur or a Flash Flood Warning be issued. Avoid low-lying areas, and be careful when approaching highway dips and underpasses.
