Flash Flood Watch until 07:00AM Tuesday
The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for all of southwest Indiana, and adjacent northern portions of southern Illinois. The watch is for those areas along and north of a line from Du Quoin, Illinois, to Rockport, Indiana.
* From 7 AM CDT this morning through Tuesday morning
* Showers and thunderstorms will produce locally heavy rainfall over areas that already received heavy rain on Sunday.
* Radar estimates and spotter reports indicate that many locations in the watch area received 3 inches of rainfall or more on Sunday. Localized flash flooding from forecast heavy rains is possible anywhere in the Watch area, but especially these locations that received so much rain on Sunday will be prone to flash flooding with any additional heavy rains.
* AFFECTED AREAS: WARRICK ... JEFFERSON ... GIBSON ... VANDERBURGH ... POSEY ... FRANKLIN ... EDWARDS ... PIKE ... SPENCER ... HAMILTON ... WHITE ... WABASH ... PERRY ... WAYNE
Instructions:
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. Be especially cautious at night, when rising flood waters may be harder to detect. And remember...never drive across a flooded roadway. Turn around, don't drown! You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
