Marion man apprehended after leading deputy on chase on stolen motorcycle

Deputy Jordon Frisbee of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jeremy Wayne Parker, 40, address listed as Choctaw Drive in Marion, with fleeing to elude arrest, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting a public officer, driving left of center, driving while license revoked, driving or allowing a vehicle to be driven with no registration plate and operating a vehicle with no insurance.
Shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, Frisbee was patrolling on Bat Cave Road, when a motorcycle with no license plate passed him at a high rate of speed. When Frisbee initiated a traffic stop, the driver sped up, leading the deputy on a pursuit to Interstate 40 to Parker Padgett Road to Oakdale and Souther roads.
At that point, the motorcyclist slowed down and was apprehended.
Further investigation revealed that the Kawasaki was reported stolen from Asheville. A search of Parker turned up 5 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
