Police arrested a nursing assistant this morning for sexually assaulting one of the female patients at a care facility. On Monday, June 10, 2019 at 3:30 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a report from an employee of Webster House Medical Center located at 437 Webster Street that one of their patients had reported she had been sexually assaulted by a nurse who had been caring for her. The 24-hour nursing and supportive care facility is used by patients who need short and long term rehabilitation. The investigation revealed that the male nursing assistant had entered the victim’s room on Sunday, June 9 to check on her. The female patient in her 70s was recovering from surgery and required assistance. During the encounter, the suspect drew the privacy curtains around the bed and sexually assaulted her. Detectives investigated and obtained a warrant for the suspect’s arrest. Police arrested 63-year-old Jeremias Frago-Rodriguez of East Palo Alto this morning at the Palo Alto Police Department. He was booked at the Santa Clara County Main Jail for rape, sexual penetration, oral copulation, sexual battery (all felonies), and elder abuse (misdemeanor).
