Hundreds of law enforcement personnel from all over Northern California will escort the Special Olympics torch, the Flame of Hope, through their local communities in a relay to the 2019 Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games on the U.C. Davis campus.
Athletes, families and supporters are encouraged to come out and cheer members of the Santa Clara Police Department on Thursday, June 13. The Flame of Hope will be received by the San Jose Police Department at approximately 1:20pm at The Alameda and Newhall Street. It will travel along El Camino Real to Halford where the torch will transition to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety at approximately 2:40pm.
