                McDowell County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a woman wanted for stealing a car.
                Lakken Nicole Bowman, 29, last known address listed as Earl Lee Road in Nebo, is charged with larceny of a motor vehicle. She is also wanted on several other charges, including identity theft, obtaining property by false pretense, probation violation and habitual felon.
                On May 21, Edward Carson, of Huntsville Road in Marion, reported that someone stole a 1998 Ford Escort from his driveway.
                A week later, Carson spotted his vehicle on N.C. 226 South and notified authorities. State troopers stopped the Escort and found Eric Scott McMahan, 36, address listed as Spruce Pine, driving the car. He was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
                Further investigation revealed that Bowman took the automobile from Carson’s property.
