The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a
* Flood Warning for...
East central McDowell County in western North Carolina...
West central Burke County in western North Carolina...
* Until 900 PM EDT Monday.
* At 1205 PM EDT, the gauge at the Bridgewater Dam at lake James has
risen to just above flood stage due to runoff from recent heavy
rains. At this level, flooding of docks and yards along the shore
is occurring, along with water beginning to enter the Moose Lodge
Campground.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Do not attempt to cross
water-covered roadways, bridges, or low-level crossings. Only a few
inches of rapidly flowing water can carry away your vehicle. It is
not worth the risk. Please TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN.
