Sergeant Tom Denney Receives Community Service Award from the Rotary of Green Bay Today at 12:00

The Rotary of Green Bay and the Green Bay Police Department are proud to announce that Sergeant Tom Denney has been nominated to receive the Community Service Award. This award recognizes excellence in public safety.

Sgt. Denney is currently in his 10th year with the department and currently serves as an afternoon patrol Sergeant. Daily, he can be seen in the community working with officers and for residents to ensure the community is safe, and enhancing the quality of life for everyone. His tireless work has earned him this recognition.

As a Sergeant, he is tasked with leading the afternoon shift and working along with the great officers of the department. Capt. John Laux, who nominated him for this award, states “I couldn’t have been more proud when Sgt. Denney was selected through the testing process to be one of the first six sergeants. He exceeds the standards that have been set, and is seen daily helping, coaching, mentoring, and leading by example.”

The Community Service Award was created by the Rotary to highlight officers who influence others and inspire others to make the City of Green Bay a desirable place to live, work, and raise a family. In addition to Sgt. Denney leading officers on shift, he is serving the citizens of Green Bay daily. He is a dedicated member of our Dive Team, SWAT negotiator, and a Field Training Supervisor.

“Sgt. Denney is leading by example and mentoring the next generation of officers. He is a shining example to everyone and I could not be more proud to work with him and to call him a friend” said Capt. Laux.

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Green Bay and the Green Bay Police Department, we commend Sgt. Denney on his service to the residents of Green Bay. He is well deserving of this Community Service Award, as he works to make Green Bay a better place to live for all.

The media is invited to attend the award presentation this afternoon at 12:00 PM at the Hyatt Convention Center. Please direct all media inquiries to this date and time.
