The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas for... Southwestern Blount County in central Alabama... Central Shelby County in central Alabama... Eastern Jefferson County in central Alabama...
* Until 745 PM CDT.
* At 548 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area. One to three inches of rain are possible in a short period of time.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Alabaster, Homewood, Pelham, Mountain Brook, Trussville, Helena, Gardendale, Irondale, Chelsea, Fultondale, Dallas, Center Point, Clay, Pinson, Tarrant, Warrior and Kimberly.
* AFFECTED AREAS: BLOUNT, AL ... JEFFERSON, AL ... SHELBY, AL
