INCIDENT: Human Trafficking, Pimping and Pandering of a Minor/Human Trafficking, Pimping and Pandering of an Adult With Force

LOCATION: 3200 Block of Centre Lake Dr. Ontario

SUSPECT: Vincent Callender, 26 year old male resident of Ontario 

VICTIMS: #1- Sixteen year old female Juvenile (Confidential)
                     #2- Nineteen year old female Adult (Confidential)


SUMMARY: On Thursday, June 6, 2019, at about 11:00 am, investigators from the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force were contacted by Ontario Police Officers, who were actively conducting an investigation of possible Human Trafficking. Human Trafficking investigators responded to the location and after speaking with Ontario officers,  assumed the investigation. During the investigation, they learned the sixteen year old victim was actively working as a prostitute for an adult male known as "Amen". The victim indicated she had been working for several days as a prostitute for "Amen". Information gained during the investigation enabled Human Trafficking investigators to positively identify "Amen" as Vincent Callender of Ontario. Investigators intitiated surveillance at several locations in an effort to locate him. Within hours, Task Force members located Callender while he was traveling in a vehicle with an unknown male. With the assistance of uniformed Ontario Police officers, Callender was contated during a traffic stop of the vehicle and detained without incident. The driver of the vehicle Callender was in during the stop, was identified and released after he was determined to be uninvolved.  Callender was transported back to the Ontario Police Department for interview. 

During the investigation, a second victim was discovered and contacted by Task Force members. During their contact with her, investigators determined she was an adult who was also actively being prostituted by Callender, and had been for several months.  Investigators also found evidence which indicated physical force had been used against Victim #2, by Callender during that same time.  

Upon completing the interview with Callender, investigators processed and booked him into the West Valley Detention Center for felony violations of  Human Trafficking, Pimping and Pandering of a Minor as well as Human Trafficking, Pimping and Pandering of an Adult With Force. He is being held in lieu of $1.5 million dollar bail. 

Both victims were rescued and provided access to services prior to being safely released to their families. 

The San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force is made up of investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office, Ontario Police Department, Redlands Police Department, California State Parole, Office of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. 

This investigation is ongoing.
