Simi Valley residents arrested for dealing in stolen goods!!

On June 4th, 2019, three Simi Valley residents were arrested for embezzlement and possession of stolen property. Michael Ramirez (38 years) was employed at Frontline Freight and Fulfillment, a Simi Valley based distributorship. Over the past six months, Ramirez had systematically stolen nearly $30,000 worth of products from his employer and was attempting to sell the items on public resale applications such as “Offer-Up” and “Letgo” for personal profit. Ramirez stole items such as high-end fishing float tubes, water sport skim boards, and even children’s stuffed animals. These items ranged in value from $1100 to $5 each.

On June 4th, 2019, during a sting operation, Marcie Hedlund (43 yrs) and Christine Larrieu (43 yrs), both from Simi Valley, were arrested for possession of stolen property as they attempted to sell the stolen goods to an undercover police officer. Following their arrest, search warrants were served in the 1500 Block of Jefferson Way and the 1100 block of Agnew St during which over $9000 worth of stolen property was recovered. Ramirez was then arrested while at work at Frontline Freight and Fulfillment.

Based on information revealed during the investigation, Ramirez was arrested for a violation of 503 PC- Felony Embezzlement. Hedlund and Larrieu were both charged with a violation of 496(a)- Possession of Stolen Property. Ramirez was booked on his charge at the East County Jail and Hedlund and Larrieu were booked at the Ventura County Main Jail.
