The first step in emergency preparedness is to stay informed. A good place to start is by registering up to three telephone numbers with the Contra Costa County Community Warning System (CWS). The CWS will alert registered members of an emergency by telephone if there is a need to shelter in place, evacuate, avoid a designated area, locate a missing person, or be aware of law enforcement activity.
