On September 05, 2018 at approximately 9:30 p.m. (4) armed gunman forced there way into a residence in the 20000 block of Elkhart by kicking in a side door. The armed men entered the residence and began demanding money from the four adult occupants. Two small children were in the residence at that time as well. Shots were fired inside the residence by the gunmen and luckily no one was shot or injured. One of the suspects poured lighter fluid all over an adult female victim while demanding money from her.
The suspects fled the scene on foot as Harper Woods Police arrived on scene.
Harper Woods Detectives were able to identify, locate and arrest DEMYRAN BURK in the City of Detroit on May 31, 2019 in connection with these crimes. On Wednesday June 05, 2019 DEMYRAN BURK, a 17 year old Detroit resident, was arraigned and formally charged in 32-A District Court in front of the honorable Judge Daniel S. Palmer with the following:

Count 2-Home Invasion-1st Degree
Count 3-Weapons-Felony Firearm
Count 4-Weapons-Felony Firearm
Bond was set at $150,000.00 cash/surety by Judge Palmer. BURK has a Preliminary Examination date scheduled for June 26, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in 32-A District Court.
