Full Notification

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance from the public.
On May 29, 2019, at about 7:07 AM Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a vehicle on fire near the intersection of Lower Telegraph RD and Hwy 4. Fire personnel and Calaveras County Deputies were dispatched to the scene. Once the fire was extinguished a body was located inside the vehicle. Investigators were summoned to the scene and subsequently took over the investigation.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Investigation Unit is asking if anyone had contact with a male adult in the general area of Upper/Lower Telegraph road and Highway 4 on May 29, 2019. Additionally, anyone who may have had contact with the occupant(s) of a red or maroon Chevrolet HHR, or anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the Copperopolis area to please contact the Sheriff’s Office.
