MEDIA ADVISORY/NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Shooting-no injuries reported

Date: June 1, 2019
Location of Incident: 1776 Powell Street, Emeryville (Denny’s)
Narrative: On June 1, 2019 at 3:56 AM Emeryville Police Officers responded to Denny’s after a male subject began flipping over tables in the restaurant. Officers located the male subject and discovered that he was the victim of an assault. Officers learned that the victim got into an argument with another male in the parking lot of Denny’s. During the argument the suspect pulled out a gun. The victim tackled the suspect and then began running away. The suspect fired the gun at the victim but did not strike him. The victim eventually fled back to Denny’s and began turning over tables inside the restaurant, which was the original call the officers responded to. There are no known injuries at this time. Officers recovered evidence at the scene and are continuing to collect information for the investigation.
