Flood Advisory until 12:30AM Friday
The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a
* Flood Advisory for... Southeastern La Salle County in north central Illinois...
* Until 1230 AM CDT.
* At 933 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to slow moving thunderstorms in southeast La Salle County. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to two and a half inches of rain have already fallen since 700 PM CDT. This will likely cause some flooding along streams, such as Otter and Covel Creeks, as well as in low lying and poor drainage areas.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Grand Ridge, Streator, Ransom, Kangley Leonore, and Illinois Highway 23.
* AFFECTED AREAS: LA SALLE, IL
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
