Two Arrested for Weapons Violations

On May 30, 2019, multiple search warrants were served in Gilroy for illegal firearms violations. It was discovered illegal firearm parts were being ordered from out of the country and being delivered to residences in Gilroy. These small device “switches” easily install on a Glock handgun converting the semi-automatic pistol to fire fully automatic. When these are installed on a Glock, one trigger pull will fire all of the rounds in the magazine until the magazine is empty. A search warrant was served in the 7200 Block Of Princeton Pl. Abdulrahman Mohamad Abdulrahman, 24-years-old, was arrested for several weapons violations including possession of a fully automatic short barreled AR-15, possession of several firearms with missing serial numbers and possession of a fully automatic Glock switch. A search warrant was served in the 9200 block of Kern Ave. Nathan Lewis, 25-years-old, was arrested for possession of four fully automatic Glock switches and possession of a stolen handgun. The Gilroy/Morgan Hill SWAT team was used to serve the warrants due to the high risk nature of these investigations. These investigations were conducted by GPD’s Anti-Crime Team and the Santa Clara County Specialized Enforcement Team.
