On Sunday May 26, 2019 at 4:40am Officer D. Brownridge was on patrol in the 2000 block of Walters Road near the AM/PM. Officer Brownridge had just cleared a traffic collision when he noticed a male seated in his vehicle who appeared to be passed out and parked at the gas pumps.
Officer Brownridge approached the vehicle on foot and immediately noticed drug paraphernalia in the driver’s lap. There was residue of suspected heroin on his lap as well as a “shaker” commonly used to break up the narcotic for use. Officer Brownridge and his cover officer were able to wake up the occupant and remove him from the vehicle. As the male was being removed from his vehicle it was discovered that he was sitting on top of a loaded illegally possessed Springfield XD-9 9mm firearm.
A search of the vehicle produced the illegally possessed firearm as well as several quantities of suspected narcotics. The suspected narcotics consisted of Cocaine, Heroin, Methamphetamine, and prescription medications not prescribed to the male.
Arrested was 40-year-old Suisun resident Donald Romby. Romby was booked into Solano County Jail on weapon violation charges, and possession of illegal narcotics for sale.
Thanks to Officer Brownridge’s observations he was able to remove a dangerous illegally possessed firearm and illegal narcotics from our streets.
