Advisory

Police, Dive Team, and Coast Guard investigate reported drowning in Sheboygan River.

The Sheboygan Police Department is investigating a suspicious water entry into the Sheboygan River.

At approximately 10:50am, our dispatch center received a call of an unknown person, who dove into the river and the person did not resurface.

Sheboygan Police Officers, Coast Guard and Sheboygan County Dive Team responded to the area and began searching the land and water for any person that may have been in the water and also for possible witnesses who may have seen someone go into the water.

The Dive Team and Coast Guard conducted a grid search of the river and were unable to locate any evidence to substantiate that someone had entered the river or was in distress. Sheboygan Police Officers checked the area for additional witnesses and information but did not find anything that would corroborate the initial call.

The search has been called off pending the development of additional information. If there are witnesses who have any additional information, please contact the Sheboygan Police Department at (920)459-3333.
