Advisory

Investing in young drivers in the classroom will pay dividends as they join the traffic flow-force.

The Sheboygan Police Department's continued effort to reduce accidents within our community has led to officers joining instructors at local drivers education classes.  Officers were invited into the classroom to provide education on being a responsible driver and reducing the risk of being in an accident through following simple rules while on the road.  This includes conversations on the dangers of texting while driving, speeding, and tailgating, to name a few.  Officers are also incorporating recent videos developed by the Sheboygan Police Department utilizing "Kelly the Pug" into the program.  The officers involvement in the driver education classes allows the opportunity to provide "true life" stories concerning dangerous driving and the importance of being safe while operating an auto.  Driver education instructors already stress responsible driving and with the added assistance of the Sheboygan Police Department hopefully will create bigger dividends with young drivers as they enter the traffic "flow-force".
