LOCATION: San Bernardino County California and Mojave County Arizona

VICTIM: Confidential Female

SUSPECT: Christopher Allen Sjaarda, 38-years-old from Mohave Valley, Arizona

SUMMARY:

In April 2019, detectives from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department were notified of sexual acts against a minor child, which occurred in the city of Rancho Cucamonga. Detectives conducted an extensive interview with a minor female victim. Detectives learned she was sexually abused multiple times by Christopher Sjaarda. The sexual abuse occurred over the last five years.

On Saturday, May 18, 2019, Sjaarda was arrested in Rancho Cucamonga and booked into the West Valley Detention Center on five counts of Sexual Acts against a Child. Sjaarda is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at the San Bernardino Superior Court in Rancho Cucamonga.

Sjaarda travels between California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada and may have had contact with other victims in those states. He is a volunteer at a local church in the city of Rancho Cucamonga. Detectives believe there may be additional victims and are releasing his booking photo.
