Memorial Day Parade Info & Schedule Changes
Residents, please note the following changes due to Memorial Day:
The Department of Public Works, Police Records, South River Municipal Court and Borough Offices will be closed Monday, May 27th.
Yard waste normally picked up on Mondays will not be collected this week. The next pick up date will be Monday, June 3rd.
Normal hours and schedules resume on Tuesday, May 28th.
The Borough of South River will be holding its annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27th. The parade kicks off at 1:00pm. All residents are invited to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country.
Residents and business owners are reminded to display your American flags in support of our country's heroes.
The parade route is as follows: beginning on Hillside Avenue near Main Street, right onto Main Street, right onto Jackson Street, left onto Ferry Street, left onto Main Street, ending on Main Street near the War Memorial Building. Parking restrictions will be in effect on these streets. Please follow the posted signs.
Motorists should expect traffic delays in the areas surrounding the parade route and plan an alternate route, if possible.
Also on Monday, May 27th, South River Fire Department will be holding a Memorial Day service at 9:00am in front of the Jackson Street Firehouse. Due to this, Raritan Avenue will be closed to traffic from approximately 9:00am until 10:00am.
Motorists should avoid this area and plan an alternate route, if possible.
