Cheyenne Alexander arrested for stabbing incident

At 10:33 AM on May 19, 2019, an APD Officer was at a hospital on a call when he was informed by hospital staff that a stabbing victim had just walked into the emergency room.  Initial indications are that the victim and his girlfriend, 21-year-old Cheyenne N. Alexander, met downtown near 5th and Barrow to run errands together.  Cheyenne arrived intoxicated, some type of disagreement occurred between them, then Cheyenne stabbed the victim with a pocket knife twice in the upper body.  After the injuries occurred the victim ran from the area and then called a friend who picked him up and drove him to the hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening wounds.
The officer learned Cheyenne had a family member who worked at the same hospital.  When the officer went to contact that employee, he found the employee speaking with Cheyenne in the hallway. After confirming her identity, Cheyenne was arrested and transported to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning by detectives.  Afterwards Cheyenne was transported to the Anchorage Jail and remanded on the charge of Assault I.
