INCIDENT: Murder Investigation
LOCATION: 3850 Eucalyptus Ave., Chino Hills
SUSPECT: Alejandro Cesarez, 23 years old, resident of Chino Hills
VICTIM: Shermaine Thompson, 25-years-old, resident of Pomona
SUMMARY:
On Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11:30 p.m. deputies responded to a housing complex on Eucalyptus Ave. for a report of a shooting. Deputies and medical aid arrived and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital and pronounced deceased at 1:53 a.m.
Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives responded to conduct the investigation. Detectives learned that Cesarez and the victim were involved in an argument and Cesarez produced a handgun and shot the victim. Cesarez then left the residence on foot and was taken into custody nearby.
The investigation is ongoing and no additional information is being released at this time.
