INCIDENT: Critical Missing Juvenile
LOCATION: 2800 block of Lytle Creek Road, Lytle Creek
VICTIM: 4-year-old female
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, May 14th at approximately 7:30 PM, deputies from the Fontana Station responded to a residence located in the 2800 block of Lytle Creek Road, regarding a missing 4-year-old girl. The father told deputies his little girl had wondered out of the house wearing only a diaper, while he was taking a nap.
Deputies quickly organized and utilized all resources available, including aviation and a blood hound, to locate the missing child. During the lengthy search of the area, efforts by aviation and the blood hound were unsuccessful. Despite running out of daylight and other obstacles, deputies vigurously continued to search the large area on foot through rough, rocky terrain near the steep mountainside.
As deputies fanned out on foot, they heard the faint sounds of a child crying. Deputies raced toward the sounds of distress and located the 4-year-old child, lost and terrified in the dark crawling through large boulders. The child was rescued by deputies, wrapped in a blanket and carried out to a waiting ambulance. She was transported to Loma Linda Medical Center for a medical evaluation and is expected to make a full recovery.
