Taylor Brink and Darrin Bouwens both arrested for OUI in the same vehicle

At 11:36 PM on May 15, 2019, a citizen called APD Dispatch to report an old truck spinning its tires and “burning out” in the roadway near Elmore Road and Lore Road.  While on-duty officers were in route, an off-duty officer located the 1985 brown Chevy pickup at Spruce and Elmore.  An on-duty unit arrived and noticed the truck had a burned out headlight and non-functioning license plate lights.  The on-duty officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle as it pulled into a driveway on the 3700-block of Rinner Circle.
A male passenger, 23-year-old Taylor D. Brink, and the driver, 43-year-old Darrin W. Bouwens, both exited the vehicle at the same time. During the interviews it was discovered that Brink had originally been driving and was the one doing the burnouts in the subdivision.  He stopped the truck at Spruce Street where Bouwens took over as the driver.  Bouwens then drove the vehicle to Rinner Circle where it was stopped by police.
Both Bouwens and Brink were found to be intoxicated; both were charged with Operating under the Influence.
