Advisory

South St. Milling and Paving Operation

Morris County Dept. of Engineering will continue a six day milling and paving operation on South St this week. The project will start in Morris Twp. near Blackberry Ln. and will affect the roadway in the area of Rt. 287 beginning tomorrow. On Monday through Tuesday next week, 05/13 - 05/21, South St. from Madison Ave. to Blackberry Ln. will be both milled and paved between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm. Alternating traffic on the Morris Twp. side of the operation will affect traffic on South St. into Morristown. When the operation shifts to the western side of Exit 35 of Route 287, traffic will have enough space to move in both directions around the project. Despite the traffic pattern, delays are to be expected and alternate routes taken to travel around the work zone. Remember that access to medical complexes off of South St. can be gained via Southgate Parkway off of James St. in Morris Twp. This will be an effective alternate route to those locations. Please use caution when traveling in this area beginning tomorrow. Due to a weather delay, the project is scheduled to be completed Tue. 05/21.
