City offices are closed July 4. Trash pick up is delayed one day beginning Thursday. Have a safe and Happy Fourth of July. Please use caution, common sense and courtesy if you are using fireworks at all during this summer.  Per Garden City ordinance, fireworks may not be used within 200 feet of a residential structure and not within 20 feet of an open flame, a burner, gasoline, ignited gas or electric grill. Fireworks may not be used on public property and no fireworks may be used between the hours of 11 pm and 7 am. Consider neighbors with dogs, small children or the elderly when using legal fireworks.
