Tips assist the Petaluma Police with the identification and arrest of Wednesday's bank robbery suspect.

Incident: Arrest for Bank Robbery

Location: Bank of America (181 N. McDowell Blvd), Petaluma
Suspect: Juan Jose Flores Jr. 44-year-old resident of Lakeport
On May 8th, 2019, Flores entered the Bank of America located at 181 N. McDowell Blvd. The suspect passed a note and demanded money. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. Petaluma Police Officers and Detectives arrived to investigate.
A press release was completed surveillance photos were sent out via several social media platforms and on Nixle. Several anonymous tips were received within hours identifying Juan Jose Flores Jr as a potential suspect. Detectives began following up on leads. Through cooperation and with the hard work of dedicated Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies, Flores was contacted at his residence in Lakeport and taken into custody early Friday morning.
PPD Investigations authored search warrants and served the warrants on 2 locations in Lakeport. Detectives returned to PPD with evidence seized during the service of the search warrants. Flores was booked into Sonoma County Jail on a charge of 211 PC- Robbery
Petaluma Police would like to thank citizens who took the safety and security of Petaluma as their personal responsibility and through positive community relationships, aided the Petaluma Police Department and Lake County Sheriff’s Department in safely taking Mr. Flores into custody.
