Overnight traffic stop yields cash, drugs, and a firearm. (click blue link for more details) 
On Thursday May 9, 2019 Cpl. Christian Wyatt of the Marion Police Department conducted a vehicle stop, on vehicle owned and operated by Mitchell Gilliland (of Marion), on Highway 70 E in Marion. Cpl. Wyatt deployed K-9 Marsoc during the vehicle stop, to which the K-9 alerted to narcotics in the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle yielded $34,852.40 in cash, 264 grams of Methamphetamine, 4 grams of marijuana, and a firearm. Mitchell Gilliland, 29 (of Marion) was arrested and charged with the following charges:
Possession of Methamphetamine, Trafficking by Transportation, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule II, Simple Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Firearm by Felon, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Gilliland was placed into the McDowell County Jail under a $351,000.00 bond.
