SCAM Alert: Scam phone calls posing as police 
We've gotten a few reports so far today of residents receiving a scam phone call we want you to be aware of. This is a variation on the theme of getting a phone call from law enforcement asking for money to clear up a warrant.
Where these scammers have taken it up a notch is that if you look on your caller ID it appears the call is coming from the police department's front desk number, (925) 314-3700.
We can tell you with full confidence that the Danville Police Department will not call you to ask for money over the phone.
If you receive a call like this, simply hang up. Stay safe and have a great weekend!
