Flash Flood Watch until 07:00AM Saturday
A series of large upper level disturbances will be moving over the Gulf South over the next several days. The first complex moved through Thursday, the second one will be moving through this morning, with yet another round likely to develop and move through later this afternoon into the evening hours. This pattern will change little through the weekend. Each feature passage will bring heavy rainfall, that over time, could accumulate to several inches. As a result, the potential for flash flooding will be present. The flash flood watch may need to be extended in time as the situation unfolds beyond Saturday morning. The National Weather Service in New Orleans has expanded the

* through Saturday morning
* Generally 2 to 4 inches of additional rainfall with locally higher amounts possible. Rain rates at times may approach 2 to 3 inches per hour. This area received around one inch of rainfall Thursday.
