#1 On SHERIFF VICTOR HILL’S Top Ten Most Wanted For Shooting A Man Multiple Times Has Now Surrendered Himself
Due to the level of violence and threat to public safety, on April 24, Sheriff Victor Hill ordered Travis McCannick placed #1 on his top ten most wanted for violently shooting a man multiple times in his lower extremities. McCannick was considered armed and dangerous as a result of his violent actions. Today, McCannick wisely turn himself over to the elite Fugitive Squad at Sheriff’s headquarters to stop the manhunt for him that was intensifying daily.
On April 12th, 2019, at a location in Jonesboro, the Clayton County Police Department responded to a person shot call at an apartment building. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim to be bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to the hospital for medical treatment and miraculously survived his wounds. Officers were able to learn through investigation into the attack that McCannick and the victim had been involved in a verbal altercation. Suddenly, and without any provocation, McCannick withdrew a firearm and shot multiple times, striking the victim in his lower extremities. After the investigation, Clayton County Police Detectives took out a warrant for McCannick’s arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Accommodations at a room in the “Hill-ton” is now the residence for McCannick where he is learning how to face the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail.
