On April 29, 2019, around 7 p.m., Jackson police were called about a shooting on the 100 block of Robin Lane. As officers were responding, they were flagged down by a car on Ridgemont Drive with a 17-year-old male gunshot victim inside. Officers determined that the victim was in connection to the Robin Lane call. An ambulance responded and transported the victim to a local hospital. He was later transferred to a Memphis hospital.

During the course of the investigation, police determined that the 17-year-old victim was accidentally shot by a friend who is a 16-year-old male.

There has been no arrest at this time. Investigators have contacted the District Attorney’s Office to discuss the case and will submit the file for their review.

The victim remains in the hospital in stable condition.
