The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has extended the
* Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams in... Southern Wayne County in southeastern Michigan...
* Until 645 PM EDT Wednesday.
* At 1231 PM EDT, flooding from overnight rain is slowly receding but still continues in many locations. Some showers and possibly thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening but widespread heavy rain is not expected. Most serious flooding should recede by this evening.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Taylor, Romulus, Flat Rock, Downtown Detroit, Canton, Dearborn, Wyandotte, Trenton, Grosse Ile, Belleville, Greenfield Village, Westland, Dearborn Heights, Lincoln Park, Southgate, Allen Park, Garden City, Inkster, Wayne and Woodhaven.
* AFFECTED AREAS: WAYNE, MI
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
