The following forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as forecast precipitation of three quarters of an inch to an inch over the next 24-48 hours. The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a
* Flood Warning for The Vermilion River near Leonore, or from IL-23 near Streator downstream to confluence with the Illinois River.
* from Wednesday morning to late Thursday night.
* At 745 PM Tuesday the stage was 12.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Wednesday morning and continue to rise to near 17.0 feet by early Thursday morning.The river will fall below flood stage by Thursday evening.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet...Water begins to flood low lying agricultural land near river.
* AFFECTED AREAS: LA SALLE, IL
