The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a 
* Flood Warning for 
  The North Branch Elkhart River at Cosperville
* from Wednesday afternoon until further notice.
* At 8 PM Tuesday the stage was 5.8 feet and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage Wednesday 
  afternoon  and crest near 6.2 feet around  8 AM Thursday May  2.
* At 6.0 feet...Water approaches some houses around Skinner Lake, 
  especially along State Road 8.

Heavy rain tracking through the region Tuesday evening, paired 
additional rounds of rain in the forecast, are expected to result
in minor river flooding.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Never drive vehicles through flooded areas. The water may be too deep
to allow safe passage. Never allow children to play in or near flood 
waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or local media for further 
statements and updated forecasts.
