Green Bay Police Release Additional Information on Officer-Involved Death

The Brown County Communication Center received multiple 911 calls in reference to a male subject who was pounding on doors, chasing people, and causing a disturbance at 1424 Admiral Court, and then a short time later, in the 1400 block of Shirley St. The male was said to be yelling and screaming that someone was after him along with other unintelligible things.

Officers made contact with the subject in the 1400 block of Shirley St. A taser was deployed and the subject was handcuffed. The officers observed the subject was in distress and began life-saving measures.

Green Bay Metro Fire/Rescue responded and continued with life saving measures. The subject was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Appleton Police Department is investigating this in custody death, as an outside agency is required to investigate such incidents per state law.

The deceased subject is a 46 year old Green Bay resident, who did not live in the area of this incident. This subject was also involved in a disturbance and arrested earlier in the week at a different residence in the City of Green Bay.

Anyone having any information regarding this incident is encouraged to call the Appleton Police Department at 920-932-5500.
