17th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
On Saturday, April 27, 2019 (10:00am until 2:00PM) The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s national biannual “Take Back Day”. The program is designed to provide a safe, convenient, and ecologically responsible method of prescription drug disposal while also educating the public about the potential for abuse of medications.
Disposing of unwanted medications through approved drop-off locations helps eliminate the possibility of abuse, misuse and diversion. Prescription drugs are a common cause of accidental poisonings in children and should not be kept around if they are no longer needed. Leftover prescription opioid painkillers, in particular, pose a risk for addiction and overdoses. This service is free with no questions asked.

Drop off locations
• Toyon Middle School (3412 Double Springs Rd, Valley Springs, CA)
• Office of Education Parking lot (185 S Main St, Angels Camp, CA).
