Found Skeletal Remains
Dearborn, Mi. — On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, the Dearborn Police Department was notified by CSX Transportation that possible human remains had been located in a wooded area near Michigan Ave and Miller Rd. Officers responded and searched the area at which time the remains were confirmed to be human. The Wayne County Medical Examiner’s office responded for testing purposes and assumed custody of the remains. Based on the preliminary findings, investigators believe that foul play was not involved.
At this time, police have not been able to identify the individual. The individual appears to be an older white male, wearing tan pants, a tan Carhart style jacket, an orange knit cap, and boots. It also appears that he was possibly homeless at the time of his death. Police are collaborating with regional partners and searching missing person databases.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad stated, “it is imperative that we identify this subject so that family members can be notified and a full investigation completed.” The Dearborn Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in identifying this individual.
