Critical Incident Community Briefing Officer-Involved Shooting Video

The Torrance Police Department has reached a point in its investigation that video footage from a December 2018 officer-involved shooting has been released.  The Torrance Police Department has completed a Critical Incident Community Briefing which incorporates video footage and factual information for public viewing.
 
On Sunday, December 9, 2018, at approximately 8:00 PM, Torrance Police Patrol Officers were conducting a stolen vehicle investigation when an officer-involved shooting occurred in a market parking lot located at 1770 Carson Street.  The incident was captured on a Officer’s body-worn-camera as well as surveillance footage from the business. 
 
The Torrance Police Department remains committed to transparency, and in the future will periodically release Critical Incident Community Briefings upon carefully evaluating the integrity of the investigation, public interest, the availability of Department Resources and current and upcoming legislation.
