Dense Fog Advisory until 10:00AM Thursday
Continuous cloud coverage and steady rainfall across southern Illinois has provided a saturated atmosphere. With some clearing beginning in western Illinois and rain diminishing in southern Illinois, fog has begun to develop. The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Dense Fog Advisory, which is in effect until 10 AM CDT this morning.
* VISIBILITY...Current visibilities range from 1/4 mile to near 3 miles. However, as the overnight progresses, visibilities are expected to continue dropping to less than 1 mile across portions of central and southern Illinois.
* IMPACTS...Reduced visibilities will create travel slow downs during the remainder of the overnight through the morning commute.
* AFFECTED AREAS: CHRISTIAN ... SHELBY ... RICHLAND ... CRAWFORD ... EFFINGHAM ... MENARD ... CLAY ... CASS ... LAWRENCE ... SCOTT ... JASPER ... MORGAN ... SANGAMON ... SCHUYLER
Instructions:
A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
