Vehicle pursuit leads to arrest of two Janesville residents.

On 4/24/19 at 12:10 A.M. Officer Zimborski was in the area of S. Crosby Ave and Johnson Street when he observed a vehicle leaving the area of a hit in run incident (JV1921458). The vehicle’s registration was also expired. Officer Zimborski attempted to stop the vehicle however the vehicle failed to stop. A vehicle pursuit was initiated for one tenth of a mile before the pursuit was terminated.

Officers relocated the vehicle in the area of N. Washington Street and W. Memorial Drive. Officers followed the vehicle to the area of Richardson and Sherman where the vehicle came to a stop. The driver Daniel Nyman exited his vehicle, and was taken into custody without incident. The passenger Marshawn Giles exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers took Giles in custody after a short foot pursuit. Upon searching Giles officers determined he had a firearm in his front pocket.

• Carrying a concealed weapon (Misdemeanor)
• Resisting an officer (Misdemeanor)
• Two counts bail jumping (Felony)
• One count of bail jumping (Misdemeanor)
• Hit and Run (Misdemeanor)
