Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the below pictured suspect in connection a business burglary that occurred on Saturday, April 20th, 2019.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., a man broke into Vida’s Cafe, located at 637 Ferry Street, and stole an undetermined amount of New Jersey lottery tickets. The suspect fled on a bicycle after putting the tickets into a basket attached to the rear of the bike.

Detectives investigating this incident captured the below pictures of the suspect and seek the public’s assistance in quickly identifying him. He is described as a man in his thirties, 5’3” tall and 200 lbs. He has a black mustache and was wearing a gray rain coat and gray rain pants.

Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about this suspect to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
