Armed Robbery – Home Invasion suspect has been charged. HWDPS K-9 Kaiser and Officer Johnson played key role in suspect’s apprehension.

On Friday, April 19, 2019 at approximately 3:30 p.m., MICHAEL BERNARD HUDSON, a 27 year old Detroit resident, was arrested by members of the HWDPS as he fled the scene of a home invasion and armed robbery.
HUDSON broke into the home of a female victim in the 18600 block of Old Homestead. HUDSON then produced a knife and robbed the elderly female of her money. HUDSON pushed the victim down then fled the scene on foot towards Kelly Road. The victim called 911 and supplied a description of the suspect.
Harper Woods police officers immediately responded to the area and began searching for the suspect. They located and arrested HUDSON hiding in a garage in Detroit west of Kelly Road. Harper Woods Police K-9 Kaiser and handler Officer Johnson played a critical role in the apprehension of HUDSON. The 74 year old victim sustained minor injuries during the incident.
On Monday April 22, 2019 MICHAEL BERNARD HUDSON was arraigned and formally charged in 32-A District Court with the following:
Count 1-Armed Robbery
Count 2-Home Invasion-1st Degree
The Honorable Judge Daniel S. Palmer remanded HUDSON to the Wayne County Jail. HUDSON has a Preliminary Examination scheduled for May 08, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in 32-A District Court. If convicted, HUDSON faces up to life in prison.
