Larceny from Automobiles in your Area

On April 22, 2019 at 3:15am, security footage shows several unknown suspects checking the door handles of vehicles in the 5600 block of Justin Ct. in Ypsilanti Township. After several attempts, the suspects gained entry to one vehicle that had been left unlocked.

Prevention Tips:

Lock your vehicle doors- The best way to prevent LFA’s is to keep your vehicle doors locked at all times

Do not leave items of value in your vehicle- Do not leave purses, wallets, electronics, personal documents, or anything else of value in your vehicle.

DO NOT LEAVE FIREARMS IN YOUR VEHICLE- Guns are a valuable item for criminals, if left in an unsecured vehicle they will be taken!!

How you can help:

File a police report- Even if you don’t feel it is necessary to report an LFA please reconsider. Reported crimes and crime stats help us with investigations.

Found Property- If you find property that does not belong to you in your yard or around your neighborhood please call the police. Allow us to come out and investigate.

Security Camera Footage- If you have heard from neighbors or social media that there have been recent LFA’s in your neighborhood please review your security footage and report anything suspicious to the police at (734) 994-2911.
