SUBJECT: Ocean Township Police Investigate Shooting Incident

DATE/TIME: April 21st, 2019 at approximately 5:00 pm

LOCATION: Elberon Blvd., Oakhurst section of Ocean Township

OFFICERS: Detectives Michael Legg, Chris Brady, Raheem Carter, Officer Christopher Clune, Detective Lieutenant Eduardo Segarra, and Detective Sergeant Greg Tongring

ACCUSED: Tanner Koch, 26 year-old male // Ocean Township, New Jersey

NARRATIVE:
At approximately 5:00 pm Ocean Township Police responded to the area of Elberon Blvd. and Roosevelt Ave. for the report of a man armed with a gun. Police investigation revealed the accused fired several shots at another male subject. The victim was not injured. Further investigation developed a suspect, 26 year old Tanner Koch. Koch had fled the scene prior to police arrival and is still at large. It is believed Koch fled the state and police are working with outside agencies to try and apprehend him. He has been charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses. The investigation is still ongoing.

Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Detectives assisted in the investigation as well.
