Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 04/20/2019 at 1824 Hours his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred on Sunset Blvd south of US-12 in Porter Township, Cass County Michigan. John Hendrickson, 55 yr old, Union resident,was north bound on Sunset Blvd when he lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road and drove through a detached garage at a residence. Mr. Hendrickson had a minor laceration on his forehead with no other injuries. The homeowner Victor Dufour, 46 yr old, was standing inside the garage when the vehicle traveled through it. In result of the crash Mr. Dufour was transported to Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart Indiana for his injuries. Alcohol and Marijuana were suspected to be contributing factors to this crash. This incident is still under investigation.
